BBcode

World of the Wheel does not allow HTML to be used on the boards- for security reasons. Instead, we have a range of BBcode tags that you can use to decorate your posts, ranging from the practical to the somewhat abstract tags used for formatting archive pages.

 

Inline Text Formatting


Below are examples of BBcode tags that can be used to format text mid flow, such as bold text, italic text, etc.

The "Bold" Tag
Example
CODE:This is [b]bold[/b] text
Produces
This is bold text



The "Italic" Tag
Example
CODE:This is [i]italic[/i] text
Produces
This is italic text



The "Underline" Tag
Example
CODE:This is [u]underlined[/u] text
Produces
This is underlined text



The "Strike-through" Tag
Example
CODE:This is [s]stricken-though[/s] text
Produces
This is stricken-though text



The "Colour" Tag
Note: This works with either British or American spelling.
Example
CODE:This is [colour=#cc0000]red[/colour] and [colour=green]green[/colour] text
Produces
This is red and green text

Example
CODE:You can format your text with the special value [colour=wotw blue]"wotw blue"[/colour]
Produces
You can format your text with the special value "wotw blue"



The "URL" Tag
Example
CODE:This is a [url=http://www.google.com/]link[/url] in some text
Produces
This is a link in some text

The "Font" Tag
Example
CODE:This is the [font=georgia]georgia[/font] font
Produces
This is the georgia font

Positioning Content


The "Centre" Tag
Note: This works with either British or American spelling
Example
CODE:[centre]This content is in the centre of the page[/centre]
Produces
This content is in the centre of the page



The "Horizontal Rule" Tag
Exmaple
CODE:You can place a horizontal rule across text. [hr] This may be useful for breaking your posts into chunks.
Produces

The "Float" Tag
Example
CODE:[float=left]This arranges content into either a left or right column based on the value you input into the tag[/float] [float=right]This arranges content into either a left or right column based on the value you input into the tag[/float]
