The World of the Wheel of Time was once rife with special talents and abilities that were not only attributed to channellers but to non-channellers as well. However, since the Breaking of the World there have been only a few discovered with certain talents.
The recruitment of Asha'man and the recent cleansing of the taint have begun an uncovering of even more talents and slowly they are coming into light as they once were in the Age of Legends, but there is a long way to go until that could be said and the Aes Sedai need to admit that some of the restrictions that they impose on their trainees may be what is inhibiting them from reaching their full potential.
Below is a list of talents available to everyone who role plays; some are specific to channelling characters others are not.
Sea Folk Exclusive Talents
Wise Women Exclusive Talents
One Power Exclusive Talents
Rare Talents
Sea Folk Exclusive Talents
- Weaving of Mists: The uncommon ability to control and change the weather.
- Wave Dancing: Controlling movements of water. The Aes Sedai do not believe this to be a control of the One Power and, in their prideful ignorance, dismiss it for witchery. It is wholly unheard of as a talent possessed by the White Tower and is perhaps one of the main causes of the rift between the Aes Sedai and the Sea Folk.

- Caressing the Child: The ability to be able to check the progress of a pregnancy.
Back to the Top One Power Exclusive Talents
Common One Power Talents- Healing: The strength in using the One Power to cure injuries and illness. This talent is the speciality of the Yellow Ajah.
- Illusion : The strength in using the One Power to change one's appearance and the appearance of objects (including rendering them invisible).
- Listening to the Wind:The ability to forecast the weather/events. This talent is common to town or village Wisdoms and it is questioned as to whether or not it is connected with the ability to channel.
- Spinning Earth fire: The ability to control molten earth, it is really simply an extraordinary affinity with Earth and Fire and is most commonly attributed to male channellers, although it has only recently resurfaced after the cleansing of the taint, which allowed male channellers more freedom to explore their talents.
- Cuendillar Making: The uncommon ability to create the indestructible stone Cuendillar. This talent is yet another of the newer talents to appear since the Age of Legends but there are less than three channellers who are known to possess the talent.
Rare One Power Talents
- Ter'angreal Making: The rare ability to make Ter'angreal that work. This ability has only recently begun to resurface and no more than three Aes Sedai are known to make active ter'angreal, their power is not strong and they are often-times unsuccessful.
- Tracing : The rare ability to see wave residues. This talent has begun to resurface with the cleansing of the taint and is more common in the Black Tower by virtue of the fact that they have a higher intake of trainees than the White Tower.

Channellers and Non-Channellers may posses the following talents:
- Dreaming: The rare talent of having dreams that foretell future events. Unlike other prophetic tools, dreams show what will probably happen. They can be difficult to interpret.
- Dreamwalking : The ability to enter Tel'aran'rhiod from one's sleep. This is a rare talent that is not connected to the One Power. The Wise Ones believe that male dreamwalkers are rare.
- Earth Singing :The uncommon ability to help plants to grow and to control the movements of the earth using one's voice.
- Foretelling: The ability to see part of the Pattern. This talent is extremely rare. Although always true, Foretellings are often very difficult to interpret.
- Sniffing:The rare ability to smell violence. This talent manifests its self most commonly in young, male, non-channellers; in fact it is completely unheard of in channellers. However, the person who possess what might, more commonly be referred to as a curse, will eventually lose the ability with age.
