The People of the Dragon

To the people of the Westlands, the Aiel and their customs have long been subject to wariness, story, and myth; standing nine feet tall, the fire-breathing half-humans from across the Spine of the World drink the blood of their enemies, the women slaying ten men a day to keep themselves and their blood-lust satisfied...

Ignorance of the strict lifestyles and codes of conduct among the Aiel was not dispelled when they fought their way to the Shining Walls in the Aiel War. Armies from across the Westlands rallied against them, but urban legends of the warriors did not fade when the armies returned home.

There were still many who believe them to be the monsters of legends, others that believed all of them were killed in the War. Most refused to believe their legendary fighting ability: surely they would fall under the proud cavalry of the local boastful Warlord... Surely?

Whatever the preconceptions, they would have been rapidly shattered as the Shaido were scattered on the winds - by whom, it is not certain, but surely with the One Power? - to land in foreign lands, seeking to regroup.

And still there are Aiel following the Dragon Reborn - if rumour is to be believed. Their connection to him is uncertain, and few dare ask to many questions of the strange savages...

The Aiel will not be initially available for WotW Board characters to roleplay, but this functionality will be later released as part of a Major Role Play Arc.
