Rules and Regulations

There are not many rules at World of the Wheel. Below is a list of the current rules, up to date.

General

These rules exist to maintain a friendly atmosphere and apply to all members, with characters or OOC, on any board. There are only two and they are really common sense; most people should have no trouble adhering to them.

  1. The use of curse words and profanity beyond that within the 'Wheel of Time' setting is discouraged.
  2. The boards are not to be used for violent arguments, or "flame wars".

Administrative and Moderation staff will issue polite warnings to people thought to be breaking these rules, after which if the actions in question continue, more series action, such as a temporary ban, may take place.

Posts

These rules apply to writing submitted "in character". We only impose one rule on your style of writing (the first rule) for the sake of consistancy and a couple for maintaining site tructure; the rest is up to you.

  1. Do not post in the first person, e.g. "I made my way down the winding staircase towards the Library door [...]". Posts must be written in the third person, e.g. "Novice Kelindra made her way down the winding staircase towards the Library door [...]"
  2. There is a word minimum of 300 words- the boards will not post your writing if it is much shorter.
  3. Each character can post only on certain boards. Following this rule should be a synch- you should not be physically able to post on a board for which you have no character. The table below depicts which of the boards each character can post on.

  4. You should not roleplay significant actions of another person's character without their permission; this is to avoid characters taking actions contrary to their personality or the wishes of the owner.

Characters

The following are actually suggestions and statements more than they are rules.

  1. There are no restrictions on the number of characters one member can have as long as the user remains active, we will not remove any of your characters unless the name of an inactive character has been requested by another user.
  2. Please do not "God-mode" your character: each person should have a chance to interact in a balaced environment.
  3. Relationships between characters are fine (OOC) however, some relationships may be frowned on (IC) e.g. Novice and Accepted relationships of any kind, Aes Sedai relationships with Asha'man (due to tensions between the Towers) as well as "Gaidin in Training" and Gaidin relationships with anyone from the Black Tower. Nevertheless, we do not mind relationships occurring.
